Fern Sutherland Attorney Fern Sutherland, who was born and raised in Pietermaritzburg, lived on the Maritzburg College property growing up and immigrated to New Zealand with her family as a young girl. Whilst living in Aberdeen she worked at both the Aberdeen City and the Aberdeenshire Councils and on board the Total North Alwyn Oil Platform in the North Sea. On her return to South Africa in 2009 she began working as a litigation secretary for Frederick Badenhorst gaining experience in the fields of Road Accident Fund claims, personal injury and medical negligence litigation. She completed her LLB in 2013 and began her articles at Stowell & Co. Attorneys where she was exposed to the fields of commercial law, High Court litigation and corporate collections.
