The Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business (PCB) is a member of the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) and linked to the International Chambers of Commerce (ICC).

The process is thought to be unique within the chamber movement in South Africa. The PCB stands alone as a comprehensively united business organisation enjoying wide credibility and the full confidence of government at all levels. The PCB is a registered Non-profit Company in terms of the Companies Act no. It is active within the national ambit of Organised Business and is fully committed to the unity of business at provincial and national levels. To be the united voice of business in the greater Pietermaritzburg area, representing and supporting businesses of all sizes and across sectors, in order that we might facilitate economic and enterprise development. To passionately serve and represent the interests of all businesses by stimulating economic and enterprise development. As an association and as individuals we embrace diversity and value unity, integrity, personal and corporate excellence, mutual respect and co-operation. We are committed to serving our members and are passionate about economic and enterprise development. We undertake to listen and to respond, to our members needs and to positively pursue innovative solutions to business challenges. UKZN Extended Learning is committed to enrichment through lifelong learning, by providing high quality credit and non-credit bearing short courses and academic programmes in collaboration with the schools and colleges of the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Since our inception in 2012, we help a growing number of South Africans reach their career goals. Excellence: Striving for continuous improvement in what we do. Honesty: And integrity, being truthful in all aspects of our lives. Only private providers of higher education have to formally apply for accreditation as providers. The University of KwaZulu-Natal is accredited as a university by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) and is registered on the SAQA list of Public Higher Education Providers. In the case of public universities like UKZN, this responsibility now rests with the institution, provided that there is a quality assurance mechanism in place, controlled and managed by the University. We regard training and skills development not as an obligation but as an investment in our people, our community and ultimately in South Africa as a whole. PCB members can display their brochures for free in the PCB foyer which is a busy hub with many visitors passing through. The PCB produces an attractive wall calendar for each of our members which includes details of key events, as well as our PCB forums. There are 20 advertising spaces available and only one advertiser of each business type is permitted to advertise on the calendar.
