Wesley Methodist Church was founded in 1980, with many of our founding members still worshiping with us today. We are an active and vibrant church with a variety of ministries taking place. We try to cater for every generation in our community, without marginalising anyone. Indeed, one of our definite strengths at Wesley is the wide age range of our congregation, which ranges from infants to those in their nineties, and every age in between. Wesley Methodist Church is a society of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa (MCSA), and as such, falls under the Natal West district, in the Pietermaritzburg circuit. Wesley maintains strong relationships with the other Methodist churches in our circuit (namely Metro, Prestbury, Hilton, Howick, Woodlands, Mountain Rise, Brentwood and Edendale, as well as the Seth Mokatimi Methodist Seminary in Epworth). Wesley also networks with other Hayfields churches of different denominations, with all the pastors meeting together regularly and the congregations participating in interdenominational events. The executive committee is the principal decision-making body of the church, comprised of the pastoral staff, society stewards and treasurer. The executive committee is responsible for overseeing the staff and for the effective running of the church. In conjunction with the circuit leaders, the executive committee is responsible for inviting ministers to serve in our community. Having spent time as a youth pastor at Bryanston Methodist Church and subsequently as a probationer minister at Somerset West and Dalton, he was ordained in He is the author of two books, Living Oceans Apart (2008) and NOW (2010), and publishes a daily blog, Living in Grace. Delme is married to Kim and they have three boys, Declan, Nathan and Joshua. Collin is a newcomer to the Wesley team, he was ordained last year and has returned after 6 years of training. He is married to Claire and has two beautiful daughters, Grace and Emily. He enjoys preaching, loves being outdoors and is a self-proclaimed master fisherman. Kim joined our team earlier this year and she is currently serving as our Children's Pastor. Kim has a passion for the Kids of our community and she also leads praise and worship on one of the Worship teams. She has a heart for mission and previously worked as an Occupational Therapist at Peter Pan special needs school. Michél is married to Logan and they have one son, Luke. Osborne is responsible for managing the Wesley property and facilities on a day to day basis, as well as assisting in reaching out to the numerous people each week who come to our church in need of food and clothing.
