In the early years, your child’s main way of learning and developing is through play. Play is fun, relaxed and natural it allows your child to have the opportunity to explore, observe, experiment, solve problems, strengthen skills and learn from his/her mistakes. All which helps your child learn about who he/she is and where he/she fits in the world. Today the care and education of the young child is receiving more attention than ever before. For this reason it has become necessary to create only the best opportunities for the education and care of the preschool child. An increasing number of mothers of young children have to work outside the home and therefore there is a greater need for places that provide quality care and education for these children. Our snazzy Nelly joined Little Munchkins 8 months after we opened in 2011, she to has grown incredibly each year with her role at school and learns very quickly, is very good at helping the children to work with boundaries, adjust and process situations morally and socially as well as being on top of the older Munchkins eating and sleeping habits, well-being, learning time and happiness as well as teaching the children about self care. Nelly brings security and comfort to the Munchkins and is always ready to praise them when they have achieved their milestones or have grown emotionally or physically or is always ready to help them grow up into their next season of life. Nelly is in her 4th year of her social work degree. Obtaining this degree is a huge achievement in her life and one that she has done incredibly well at (receiving distinctions for her most of her subjects), she has left her practical all for this year rather than doing 1 every year this is the reason she is only at work 2 days a week as the other 2-3 days she is away doing workshops or finishing her last few exams. Sonja is Silondile’s assistant in the mornings, she is our extra eyes and hands during playschool time and home time. She is kind and gentle and always ready to be involved and help where she can, she takes the time to get to know each Munchkin, is ready to assist them and encourage them when needed. Silondile or even best known as Aunty Dile is our Mini Munchkins main Caregiver, she has been with us from the day Little Munchkins opened back in 2011 and has grown incredibly every year in her role at the school. Silondile has the biggest heart for her Munchkins well-being and happiness. Silondile is patient, steadfast and loves the Munchkins with all her heart, she always makes time to invest into each child and makes sure that they know they are loved and secure, the Munchkins know when the need a hug or some comfort their Aunty Silondile is never far away. Our joyful Promise is a mother to 2 children (A daughter and son) and has just entered the world of a Gogo to a little girl, she has an eager heart to learn and grow and is never far behind without a laugh or smile. Aunty Promise began with us at the beginning of 2016 but permanently became a caregiver at Little Munchkins January 2017, she stepped in to fulfil Nelly’s role at Little Munchkins and has proven to be a great asset to the school. Promise is never without a smile or a laugh, she is full of life, is always engaging with the children and encouraging them to grow emotionally, physically and intellectually, she is patient, kind and gentle. Takes the time to get to know each child and to connect to their level. Thandi is softly spoken, has a very caring nature, is an honest and reliable lady and is always ready to assist any child with a caring mothers heart. Her role is to help with the early arrival children’s breakfast in the morning, the putting out of food and toys as well as the cleanliness of school.
