Big Red Rigging supplies all rigging equipment, such as slings, adjustable chains, shackles chainblocks, 40t load-bearing neoprene skates, plates, steering gear, forklift extensions, etc at no extra cost to client. Big Red Rigging has introduced a project management systems approach to multi-disciplinary rigging projects and assignments, in association with a professional engineering consultancy. Big Red Rigging’s engineering represents seven main aspects of manufacturing engineering, viz. projects, plant modifications and design, fabrication, piping, installation, shutdown maintenance and health and safety. The packing and unpacking of shipping containers, whether GP, OT or FR configurations, is a regular feature of our business activities. Big Red Rigging, via associate companies, has access to a wide range of specialised equipment with the capability of handling commodities ranging from delicate computerised equipment to heavy presses and machinery weights up to 250 ton. An example is a fully imported US-built 250 ton hydraulic telescopic gantry. It is a safe and reliable solution for the heaviest lifts. The gantry is completely self-contained with four hydraulic cylinders per leg. This lifting platform provides rock solid stability and safe, reliable operation. The gantry legs travel forward or reverse on a track, using jack and slide system, lowering the heavy load with optimum precision. Once at the site a gantry can be set up and ready to operate in a few hours. Just set the gantry on its tracks and it is ready to lift. Trained riggers are well geared and experienced to undertake these abnormal lifts and to work in confined areas often inaccessible to conventional cranes. Safety is an absolute first priority and business imperative. All work is carried out in accordance with regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act under the personal supervision and oversight of the owners. Big Red Rigging HSE Rules are strictly enforced to ensure the Health and Safety of all employees, or any other person, as well as safeguarding of the Environment. A comprehensive Job Safety & Risk Assessment is performed and submitted as a Site Journal prior to site establishment based on process, task, area/plant and risk exposure, notably any work and lifts at height elevation.
